This webinar offers participants with a structured overview of replicable approaches for citizen-centric planning that places inclusivity and lived experience at the core of decision-making as it relates to the intersection of sustainable mobility options and urban spaces. It showcases good practice, digital solutions and planning guidelines that support the development of urban mobility that reflects city dwellers’ needs in multi-generational and gender-inclusive public spaces.
Drawing on practical experiences, the session highlights how cities can apply engagement methods and other user-oriented tools, which are sensitive and responsive to the needs of diverse target groups (e.g., women, elderly, youth, marginalised communities), to the field of mobility planning. Discussion will explore how such approaches can be leveraged to design transport systems and urban environments that are more inclusive, equitable and effective.
This is the third session in UTM’s four-part webinar series “Cities on the Move! Driving the innovative transition of urban mobility”, organised in collaboration with the Driving Urban Transitions (DUT) partnership. It highlights citizen-centric planning and engagement methods to design transport systems and urban environments that are more inclusive, equitable, and sensitive to diverse target groups.
